“We need to get you to Doc Featherstone.”

Jacyn tried to lead Brent away, but the feline

shrugged off his hold.

“Call Cassie first,” he ordered, his voice

slurring just a bit.

“What for? You’re two seconds from passing

out on me and I’m not in the mood to carry your

stupid ass all the way through the building,” Jacyn

snapped, his face getting the same irritated look

Brent had worn at points during the Raven attack.

“I need to make sure Daniel’s okay.”

“I’ll take care of that, now come on.” Jacyn tried

once again to lead him away, but Brent still

resisted.

“No, it has to be her. She’ll make sure Mitchell

doesn’t send him away like he did with Logan.”

There was an almost frantic tone to Brent’s voice.

Daniel wanted to reassure him. “I’m not going

anywhere.” He gave Brent’s hand a gentle squeeze

and was dismayed at how hot and sweaty the

man’s skin felt. Despite having an audience, Brent

turned to him and cupped his face, gently fanning

the pad of his thumb along Daniel’s cheekbone.

“Promise me.”

“I swear it to you.”

“Ugh, you guys are beginning to make me gag.

Both of you leave before I shoot myself just so I

don’t have to listen to all this drama,” Rat bitched.

“Shut up, Rat,” Daniel and Brent ordered in
